NBA is back!

After word that the NBA was in a lock out, I hugged my Celtics t-shirt tighter in hopes that these athletes would stop being so greedy and just sign the deals already! I mean, what would I do all winter without Ray Allen's fluid shooting, Garnett's trash talk, and Pierce's intensity? Watching football 3 days a week, I suppose. With that said, can you imagine the huge smile on my face and fists pumping in the air when I found out the C's will be squeaking their hi-tops on the court this year? Sa-weet! Now, I'm on the lookout for some really cool Celtics gear. I bought a rad (yah, I said it) winter hat last year. This year, look at what I have my eyes set on:
Boston Celtics Women's adidas Originals Green Court Series Hooded Sweatshirt
I mean, WHAT?! The buttons and precious white Adidas stripes make this girl giddy!  Do you ever just see an item of clothing that you want so badly, you can already feel it's fabric on your body? Well, that's what this sweatshirt does for me. A pair of white Celtics tear-away pants wouldn't hurt either...

What's better than Clinique's Black Honey?

Clinique's Black Honey Almost Lipstick has had a cult following probably before my first makeover the summer before I started freshman year in high school (which was ions ago). It looks scary and dark in the tube, but glides on beautifully, leaving behind the perfect my-lips-but-better stain. The cost is $15, which really isn't so bad for a lipstick.
However, I have recently come to find a product that closely resembles the i-just-ate-a-cherry-popsicle color of Black Honey...

... Maybelline's Baby Lips in "Grapevine!"

And, how cute is the packaging? I'm 31, yes. I am still attracted to color and bubble letters! Deal with it.

At $3 a pop, I say try it. It feels super soft on the lips, leaves behind a sexy sheen, and surprisingly lasts a long time. It comes in a clear, pink, and peach as well. What a great stocking stuffer idea, eh?
Let me know if you try it and how much you love it!

Have you entered the world of Pinterest yet?

Here is my ode to the fantastic online bulletin board that clears my sporadic, chaotic, Gemini mind into uncluttered space:

(In the words of Usher)
"Baby let me love you down
There’s so many ways to love ya
Baby I can break you down
There’s so many ways to love ya
Got me like, oh my gosh I’m so in love
I found you finally, you make me want to say
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,

If you have yet to receive your invitation to Pinterest, please let me know. I can email you one! It's free, and severely addictive...

Help! Shellac vs. Axxium

I've been thinking and thinking about it. I've finally made a decision. I am not going to feel guilty about it. I am getting my nails done! That's it! I've made my final decision.

With my husband's Christmas party coming up, a game night with friends, and get together with the kiddos, I think I deserve to feel, well, er, polished!

Now, the only other question I have is to get Shellac or Axxium?

I've read a bit about both online, but would like some "real life" responses from people I know. Do you have any experience with getting either of these products on your nails? I am super excited to finally have a manicure last longer than 2 days! I promise to update you all with pictures and give a hopefully fabulous review.

Thanks for the advice in advance. Have a BEAUTIFUL day!

Beyonce in Lanvin

I don't know if  it's the pregnancy glow or what, but this is the best I've seen Beyonce look! I love that dress. It's very "suri" style, and I think women should leave something to imagination more often. I would rock that dress pregnant or not! How about you?

Hey Y'all!

Dan Post ankle booties
It must be the influence of the 5-1/2 years that I've been living down South, but I want these Cowboy Boots so bad! They just might be making an appearance on my Christmas list. How cute would they be with, um, anything!? Jeans? Of course. A long flowing skirt? Yes, please! Cut-off shorts? Hot, Mama! I. Must. Have. Them.

Scalpel, Please...

There is an ancient skincare treatment that sounds scary, but is actually very good for your skin. It's called dermaplaning, or blading. Basically, it's a fancy way of shaving (with a #10 scalpel) your face, but it is a GREAT exfoliation technique, while at the same time defuzzing your cheeks, chin, upper lip, and even those pesky sideburns.

Look at all the fuzz coming off:

Not only does blading remove any unwanted peach fuzz and make you feel like a baby's bottom, but the process actually removes about 2-3 weeks of dead skin, so you want to allow time for your skin to recover before doing it again.

I'm telling you people, it's awesome! Most estheticians will show you what came off your skin, and, for me, I think it's fascinating. But if you don't want to see it,  then you don't have to.

Now, to answer the question most of you are thinking: "If I 'shave' my skin, won't my hair grow in darker and thicker?" The answer, bloggies, is NO. The hair on the face of a woman's is called vellous hair (the "peach fuzz"). It is physiological impossible for it to grow back darker and thicker when altered. Terminal hair, however, is coarse by nature. So, when cut or altered, those hairs will grow back the same way (think pubic area, under arms, eyebrows, men's facial hair).

Finally, I would suggest asking your skincare therapist how long she has been performing dermaplaning and/or how many clients she has seen. This will just insure that you have somebody with experience.

So, go ahead and try it. Then, let me know how it went!

Have any of you tried it before? How many of you are fans and go regularly? I'd love to hear about it!

Have a BEAUTIFUL day!
